Microclimate in the Sistine Chapel

When the restoration of the Sistine Chapel was completed, a new challenge arose. The glue layers had kept the frescoes fairly well protected, but now that they are removed the frescoes are vulnerable to the elements. The Vatican joined hands with the Carrier Corporation to design a climate control system especially made for the Sistine Chapel. The purpose of the system is to control the climate within the Chapel and to control the evironment. The system would control everything from humidity to the amount of carbon dioxide released by tourists.
